Abnormal Security is seeking a Full stack Software Engineer to join the Premium Email Products (PEP) team. This team is responsible for building and operating Abnormal’s AI Security Mailbox and Search & Respond products. Our goal is to automate the workflows of the Security Operations Center (SOC) team by providing reliable, intuitive, and user-friendly products that help them save time in their daily tasks.

As a full-stack team, we handle all layers of development, including data storage, backend, and frontend. The ideal candidate will have experience working across the entire stack and possess in-depth knowledge of both frontend and backend development. This role is 60% back end and 40% front end.

What you will do

Design and execute software projects which are critical to Abnormal’s success with a group of engineers through conception, design, implementation, launch & operation
Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-To-Market teams to implement, verify, and iterate on the issues & requests coming from our customers
Raise the bar of excellence in engineering, actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and participating in professional development activities
Hit the ground running, contributing to the teamwork in the first two weeks
You’re able to leverage AI Developer tools such as Copilot or Cursor in your daily workflow

Must Haves

BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems or other related engineering field
3+ years of industry experience designing & building full stack software applications
Experience with our stack:
Expert in React, Redux, JS/Typescript
Intermediate+ Python and/or Go skills
Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices and conventions
Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
You’re growth driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time

Nice to Have

Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus
Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices.
Knowledge of containerization using Docker or similar technologies.
Experience with distributed systems

Base salary range:

$148,800—$175,000 USD
