About the Role
The Strategy Office drives Abaxx's corporate priorities and helps address structural inefficiencies in global commodity markets, with Corporate Communications specifically responsible for protecting and promoting the Company's culture, brand, and reputation. We're looking for a Senior Manager, Brand Design & Experience to lead the visual expression of Abaxx and its portfolio of brands across websites, product interfaces, advertising, events, presentations, and commercial materials — a hands-on role spanning both creative direction and execution, translating brand strategy into clear, scalable visual systems and ensuring consistently high-quality output from internal designers, product and web teams, and external partners.
You'll join a multidisciplinary team of strategists, communicators, designers, and subject-matter experts spanning commodities, economic research, engineering, and journalism — shaping how Abaxx is understood and experienced by the market participants, partners, employees, and investors who use and help build smarter markets.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and execute design across Abaxx's highest-priority brand initiatives, including campaigns, product launches, events, partnerships, websites, presentations, advertising, social content, and commercial materials.
- Translate brand strategy and complex business concepts into distinctive visual ideas and scalable design systems across digital, print, motion, and physical applications.
- Own selected design projects from early concept and visual exploration through production and final delivery, coordinating internal stakeholders, designers, agencies, developers, and external production partners.
- Set the visual direction for major campaigns and initiatives, providing clear creative guidance, design feedback, and quality control throughout development and execution.
- Manage and evolve Abaxx's visual identity and the identities of its portfolio brands, including typography, color, iconography, imagery, illustration, layout frameworks, and logo application.
- Build and maintain brand libraries, guidelines, templates, presentation systems, and other resources that enable teams across the organization to apply the brand consistently and effectively.
- Guide the visual design of Abaxx's websites, developing concepts, layouts, and specifications for implementation by web developers and ensuring the final experience reflects the intended brand direction.
- Partner with product and UI/UX teams to provide visual brand direction and feedback, helping ensure Abaxx's identity is reflected appropriately within product interfaces without assuming ownership of product design.
- Work closely with communications, marketing, web, product, commercial, and technology teams to maintain a coherent visual identity across Abaxx's ecosystem of businesses and stakeholder touchpoints.
- Provide direction and mentorship to graphic designers and external creative partners, helping raise the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of the work produced across the organization.
- Collaborate with specialists in motion, animation, illustration, photography, environmental design, and other disciplines to develop the assets and systems required for high-impact initiatives.
- Establish effective design-review and production processes that enable teams to move efficiently while maintaining a consistently high standard of craft.
Key Attributes & Experience
- 6+ years of experience in brand design, visual identity, or creative design, with evidence of growing responsibility and readiness to operate at a senior individual-contributor or emerging design-lead level.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft, conceptual thinking, and experience across campaigns, events, layout, design systems, and visual storytelling.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, including experience building and maintaining shared libraries, templates, and scalable brand documentation.
- Strong visual judgment and the ability to translate brand strategy and complex subject matter into distinctive, credible, and coherent visual systems.
- Comfortable operating as both a hands-on designer and a strategic partner, moving between concept development, execution, creative review, and cross-functional collaboration as needed.
- Collaborative and receptive to feedback, with the confidence to articulate a point of view while remaining open to challenge, iteration, and stronger ideas from others.
- Experience providing thoughtful, actionable feedback to designers, agencies, developers, and external partners, helping improve both the work and the consistency of execution.
- Curious about emerging creative technologies and willing to experiment with AI-enabled tools as accelerators for exploration and production, while maintaining a high bar for originality, craft, accuracy, and final review.
- Highly organized, with the ability to maintain design quality and consistency across simultaneous projects, multiple brands, and distributed contributors.
- A degree in design, art and design, or a related field is helpful, though equivalent professional experience and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in visual design will be equally valued.
- Experience working in technology, financial services, media, a public company, or an agency environment is helpful.
- Able to work primarily within U.S. Eastern business hours.
