About the Role
This opportunity is for a Software Engineer focused on building mission-critical systems that power complex back-office workflows for startups. The role centers on designing and maintaining stateful, end-to-end systems that uphold data integrity, support compliance-sensitive operations, and deliver reliable customer outcomes.
You will work on foundational platform areas, ship production-ready improvements quickly, and help turn complex operational challenges into clean, scalable systems. This role also involves close collaboration with product and support partners to translate real user pain points into intuitive, durable solutions.

- Develop stateful end-to-end systems that meet strict compliance, reliability, and operational requirements
- Ship production-ready features quickly, gather feedback, and iterate based on real-world usage
- Own core platform domains and set strong standards for code quality, observability, testing, and operational excellence
- Partner with Product and Support teams to turn customer pain points into clean, intuitive solutions
- Build systems that scale from early-stage startups to enterprise environments

- Strong ability to model complex domains, define clear data schemas, and ensure end-to-end reliability
- Experience implementing distributed workflow patterns across services and third-party APIs, including idempotency, sagas, compensating actions, and coordinated multi-step transactions
- Experience building transactional pipelines with reconciliation, audit trails, and automated recovery workflows
- Strong focus on observability, fault tolerance, graceful degradation, and production reliability
- Understanding of caching, queueing, rate limiting, and scaling systems for rapid growth without sacrificing correctness or latency
- Ability to break down complex technical tradeoffs into clear implementation plans
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional stakeholders
- Bias toward action, rapid prototyping, and high standards for production-ready delivery
