About 71 West

71 West is a boutique content agency specializing in luxury brands. We exclusively partner with national and global companies that are widely recognized as leaders in their industries, including iconic names such as The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, and W Hotels. This is not the kind of agency where you’ll be working on small local businesses—our content and strategies power the world's most aspirational brands. With a results-oriented culture and a fully remote setup, we entrust our team with significant responsibility, authority, and autonomy to deliver exceptional work that transforms brands and inspires audiences.

Role Purpose

As a Senior Account Executive, you will play a leading role in the day-to-day management and execution of our work with Marriott International’s luxury brands. Acting as a core member of the Marriott team, you will take direct responsibility for specific brands such as W Hotels and EDITION, serving as a primary day-to-day client contact and a trusted steward of the work.

This role functions much like an in-house Senior Social Media Manager combined with a strong agency operator. You will help translate strategy into excellent daily execution across content, publishing, campaigns, community management, reporting, and influencer activations, while also bringing a higher level of judgment, ownership, and leadership to the account. In addition, you will serve as a key bridge between the day-to-day social and digital execution and the broader strategic and leadership teams, ensuring strong communication, alignment, and forward momentum.

Just as importantly, this role requires strong cultural fluency and real creative curiosity. We are looking for someone who is deeply plugged into culture and has a sharp point of view on what is happening across social media, the arts, fashion, design, music, and emerging talent. The right person is not simply aware of trends after they become obvious. They are early. They know the artists, creators, tastemakers, and makers shaping culture before most brands do, and they bring that awareness into the work in ways that feel relevant, tasteful, and strategically useful to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership and Communication

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned client brands, building trust through strong communication, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Maintain regular direct communication with clients to ensure alignment, proactively address questions or issues, and keep work moving efficiently.
  • Participate in and help lead client-facing meetings, presenting updates, recommendations, and solutions with clarity and confidence.
  • Help manage client expectations thoughtfully, including navigating shifting priorities, service issues, and fast-moving requests.
  • Distill client feedback into clear, actionable next steps for internal teams.

Team Coordination and Account Ownership

  • Keep internal teams and clients aligned through strong communication, follow-up, and coordination across workstreams.
  • Own the day-to-day roadmap for assigned accounts, ensuring projects are on track, priorities are clear, and deliverables are completed at a high standard.
  • Maintain visibility across the full body of work for your brands, not just individual tasks, so that execution stays connected to larger goals.
  • Identify gaps, risks, or inefficiencies early and work with leadership to solve them.
  • Manage up effectively, escalating issues when needed and helping leadership stay informed on account health, client sentiment, and upcoming needs.

Social Media Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and implement social media strategies tailored to client goals, brand identity, audience behavior, and platform best practices.
  • Translate larger brand and campaign strategies into practical day-to-day execution plans.
  • Stay current on platform updates, cultural shifts, social trends, and competitor activity, bringing relevant recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Contribute strategic thinking that helps clients engage audiences more effectively and keep their social presence sharp, modern, and relevant.
  • Ask smart questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and help improve the quality of thinking behind the work.

Content Planning and Creative Development

  • Create and manage detailed content calendars that support brand priorities, key moments, and publishing consistency.
  • Write a significant portion of social copy across channels, ensuring content is on-brand, platform-appropriate, and resonant with luxury audiences.
  • Partner closely with strategists, creatives, designers, producers, and copywriters to develop strong social-first content.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback on creative work to ensure deliverables are on-brief, on-brand, and optimized for each platform.
  • Help facilitate tentpole campaigns, influencer activations, and other special projects from planning through execution.

Social Listening

  • Use social listening tools and observation to monitor trends, brand sentiment, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities or risks.
  • Surface insights that may inform content, brand advocacy, PR coordination, or issue management.

Analytics, Reporting, and Optimization

  • Work with the broader team to gather performance data and help create client reports and presentations that clearly communicate results, learnings, and recommendations.
  • Draw actionable insights from social and campaign performance, then translate those insights into improvements in strategy and execution.
  • Track performance against client goals and identify when plans should be adjusted or optimized.
  • Help ensure reporting is not just descriptive, but useful in guiding future decisions.

Operational and Financial Discipline

  • Maintain a strong working understanding of the account scope, deliverables, timelines, and ways of working.
  • Help ensure that the team’s work remains aligned with account scope, priorities, and budget realities.
  • Support the development of scopes, estimates, timelines, and project plans as needed.
  • Help monitor account operations with discipline, flagging inefficiencies, scope concerns, or process breakdowns before they become larger problems.

Leadership and Growth

  • Act as a dependable presence on the team, bringing calm, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Help mentor and support more junior team members, offering guidance, context, and feedback that improves both the work and the team.
  • Contribute to a strong team culture built on accountability, collaboration, and high standards.

  • Creative Judgment: Strong instincts for what makes social content effective, relevant, and aligned with a premium brand standard.
  • Luxury and Travel Enthusiasm: A strong interest in luxury and travel, with a love for high-end brands and an appreciation for taste, detail, and craft.
  • Proactive and Adaptable: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and responds well to change, ambiguity, and evolving client needs.
  • Team Player and Emerging Leader: Collaborative, positive, and generous with others, with the maturity to help lead by example.
  • Working Hours: Ability to work in U.S. East Coast hours to align with client working hours.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive Compensation: Depending on location and experience, $75,000-$95,000 annual salary in addition to potential for individual and team-based bonuses.
