Azure Cloud Developer

At 4Sight Labs, we build technology that helps law enforcement and corrections professionals work better, safer, and smarter. Our wearable technology and cloud systems monitor the health and safety of individuals in custody—because every second counts when lives are on the line.

We’re looking for a Cloud Software Engineer who can write clean, efficient, and secure code in Azure—designing, building, and optimizing cloud-based services that support real-time data processing and mission-critical applications.

What You’ll Build & Own

• Azure Cloud Services Development

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud applications using Azure Functions, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, and App Services.

• API & Integration Development

• Build and refine APIs to support integrations between our platform, biosensor devices, and agency IT systems.

• Performance & Reliability

• Write code to improve scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance across distributed systems.

• Code-Driven Infrastructure

• Use Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM templates, or similar) to build reliable and repeatable deployments.

What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)

• You’ve taken ownership of core Azure-based services and can evolve them without hand-holding.
• You’re delivering new cloud features and improvements that support live data processing.
• Our APIs, functions, and services are faster, cleaner, and more maintainable than when you joined.
• Internal teams and customers rely on your code to keep systems running smoothly and securely.

Day-to-Day

• Develop, test, and deploy Azure Functions and APIs to support our IoT ecosystem.
• Refactor existing services for performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product and hardware teams to enable new features and integrations.
• Build automation pipelines for deployment, monitoring, and testing.
• Monitor production environments, debug live issues, and ship fixes rapidly.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience writing and deploying production cloud applications.
• Strong development skills in Python and/or JavaScript (TypeScript a plus).
• Deep experience with Microsoft Azure (Functions, Cosmos DB, App Services, Blob Storage).
• Solid understanding of cloud security best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD, IaC tools, and cloud-based observability platforms.
• Familiarity with real-time data pipelines or IoT platforms like LoRaWAN or The Things Industries (TTI).
