Website Developer & Visual Storyteller

Our Growth & Communications team keeps the brand engaging and ensures our sales pipeline thrives. We’re looking for a Website Developer & Graphic Designer who can build visually striking, performance-focused websites and landing pages, optimise content for search visibility, and leverage AI tools to enhance digital assets.

This is a contract role (initial six-month term) with the opportunity to transition to permanent full-time employment for a standout performer. This remote position requires a reliable internet connection and a productive home-office setup for seamless collaboration.

Role Overview

As our Website Developer & Graphic Designer, you’ll blend technical skill with creative flair to deliver impactful digital experiences. You'll create high-performing landing pages, design engaging visual content, optimise websites for SEO, and efficiently manage content across Next.js and WordPress platforms. Utilising AI-driven tools like Cursor, you'll streamline development workflows and consistently produce exceptional web assets hosted via Vercel, Supabase, and Kinsta.

Key Responsibilities

• Website & Landing Page Development: Build, manage, and deploy responsive websites and landing pages in Next.js and WordPress, adhering to brand guidelines and campaign requirements.
• Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics, layouts, mock-ups, icons, and web-ready assets that maintain brand consistency and enhance user engagement.
• AI-Assisted Development: Effectively use Cursor or related AI tools to accelerate coding processes, refine web designs, optimise performance, and implement updates rapidly.
• Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): Conduct technical audits, optimise on-page elements, implement schema markup, and track improvements through GA4 and Search Console.
• Performance Optimisation: Improve page loading speeds, ensure Core Web Vitals remain optimal, and monitor site health for performance metrics.
• Content & CMS Management: Efficiently update and maintain content through WordPress and Next.js CMS environments, collaborating closely with marketing and content teams.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to align design objectives, campaign goals, and technical requirements.

Success Measures

• Web projects delivered within agreed timeframes (average of between 1-2 days turnaround).
• Achieve Core Web Vitals performance rated as "good" across at least 90% of pages.
• Landing page conversion rates at ≥5% for gated assets and ≥15% for events.
• Organic traffic growth ≥10% quarter-on-quarter.
• Zero downtime during deployments and updates.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in website development and graphic design.
• Proven proficiency in Next.js and WordPress development.
• Demonstrated ability in SEO practices, including technical audits, schema markup, and keyword optimisation.
• Skilled in AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
• Proficient with HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Git, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Strong design capabilities using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
• Experience with deployment and management of sites on Vercel, Supabase, and Kinsta.
• Familiarity with analytics and SEO tracking tools like GA4 and Search Console.
