Art Director – Sephora Brand
We’re seeking a visionary Art Director to lead and shape the visual world of a high-growth Sephora beauty brand. This role will be instrumental in aligning creative strategy with business and marketing objectives, building a bold and distinctive brand identity that cuts through the clutter. From campaign ideation to retail execution, this is a hands-on creative leadership position that requires both strong conceptual thinking and expert design execution.
Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, the Art Director will bring the brand story to life across every customer touchpoint—product, digital, retail, events, and beyond—while ensuring visual consistency, excellence, and innovation across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
PACKAGING
- Partner with the Founder to concept and design all packaging: core, limited edition, PR mailers, and gifting.
- Own the primary packaging process—from sketching and renderings to final production—across the entire product lineup.
- Lead secondary packaging (unit cartons) design, managing concept through execution and production.
- Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to evolve packaging into a more planet-positive direction while maintaining brand integrity.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development, Project Management, and Operations to align on timelines, vendor communication, and execution.
- Occasional press checks to review and approve color.
RETAIL + DIGITAL
- Lead concepting and design for in-store visual merchandising at Sephora, transforming brand codes into impactful 3D environments.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to optimize all in-store experiences—gondolas, end caps, animations, and more.
- Own the creative direction for sephora.com, designing all brand and product assets for a premium, cohesive online presence.
- Create and source custom promotional materials for events, gifting, and Sephora staff engagement.
- Design branded event environments for corporate and consumer-facing moments like Sephoria, SMC, holiday activations, and IRL pop-ups.
