Wilson Bittencourt, RecruiterRole Overview
Join our team to help develop an innovative, gamified language-learning app. We’re seeking a skilled Unity developer to build a modular 2D, physics-based racing mini-game that will be a key feature within our React Native mobile app. The mini-game will reinforce learning through fun, fast-paced competition—where user performance is tied directly to language accuracy and speed.
I’m especially interested in developers who have games currently live on the App Store or Google Play that I can download and test, as that helps me better evaluate real-world performance and polish.
Responsibilities
- Build a 2D racing-style mini-game using Unity (C#) with physics-based mechanics, designed to integrate cleanly into a React Native app
- Ensure the game is modular, maintainable, and optimized for embedding as a contained feature
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code to support future feature expansion and team handoffs
- Collaborate with designers and other developers to ensure consistent look, feel, and performance across platforms
- Prioritize performance and responsiveness, aiming for low-latency, smooth gameplay across a variety of mobile devices
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Unity (C#) for 2D mobile game development
- Experience with physics-based gameplay mechanics, especially in racing or reflex-based games
- Ability to build modular architecture suitable for hybrid app integration (e.g., React Native)
- Deep understanding of mobile optimization techniques (object pooling, draw call batching, sprite atlases, memory management)
- Clear communication and documentation practices to support future team scaling
Nice to Have
- Live games published on the App Store or Google Play that demonstrate racing or real-time gameplay
- Experience embedding Unity games into hybrid frameworks like React Native
- Familiarity with gamification or educational games
- System design experience for real-time or multiplayer interactions
- Comfort working in early-stage, fast-moving startup environments
