UX Project Brief

Name of the project: High-Fidelity Mockups for Energy-Sales platform

Background

We are a German software platform and sales service provider specialized in scaling B2B energy sales. With our digital platform, we connect energy brokers and energy suppliers and provide them with modern tools for an efficient sales routine. This way, we automate the entire value chain in energy sales end-to-end and enable significantly lower sales costs as well as major time savings in the mediation of energy supply contracts.

Our platform is already successfully in use in the German market and is growing rapidly. As part of the next development stage, we are planning a comprehensive update to significantly improve functionality and usability. In preparation, we want to create high-fidelity mockups in Figma, which will serve as the basis for handover to the development team.

The mockups build on existing wireframes/low-fidelity drafts and use the design system Shadcn selected by us.

Product

Our platform represents the digital core of our business model. It makes the entire process of mediating energy supply contracts more efficient, transparent, and scalable. The platform includes two portals – one for energy suppliers and one for energy brokers – and essentially offers the following features:

● Calculation & comparison: Creation of offers (electricity & gas) with transparent prices and conditions.

● Digital contract conclusion: Direct conclusion of PDF contracts, completely without paperwork.

● Customer & contract management: Management of customers, control of contract completions, and tracking of commissions.

● Digital documentation: Storage of contract status, deadlines, and documents – accessible at any time.

Objective

● Extension of Shadcn with custom components needed for mockups and ensuring a user-friendly, aesthetic, and consistent design that improves usability and builds trust.

● Development of final high-fidelity mockups in Figma that realistically represent the product’s look and feel and can be handed over to the development team.

Prerequisites

● Detailed mockups in Figma (over 50 pages) already exist, supplemented by extensive documentation in Confluence (functions, user flows, etc.). Note: Mockups and documentation are currently in German; independent translation may be necessary for processing. The high-fidelity mockups should then be provided in English.

● The preferred design system Shadcn has already been selected. The basic components are provided as a Figma kit and can be directly adapted. The kit can be accessed here: https://www.shadcndesign.com/

Key results & Success criteria

● Completion of the high-fidelity mockups by November 2025 (mid/end).

● Handover to development without or with only minimal adjustments.

Target audience

● Primary user group: Energy suppliers and energy brokers.

● Secondary user group: Developers who need the mockups as a visual reference.

Scope / Deliverables

● Complete high-fidelity mockups in Figma.

● Complete design system (component library).

Optional:

● Extension of existing documentation.

● Additional screens (depending on timeline & feedback).

● Interactive prototype for usability testing.

● Weekly check-ins with project management.

Communication:

● Slack for quick communication & feedback.

● Google Meet for review meetings.

Design & Documentation Tools:

● Figma for design & prototyping.

● Confluence (alternatively Notion) for project documentation.

● Figma (alternatively Zeplin) for developer handoff.

Additional notes

● Mockups must be responsive (desktop & mobile).

● Focus on a consistent UI that remains scalable in the long term.

● Fluent English skills are required for smooth collaboration; German skills are a plus.
