Team Lead/Senior Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer (India-FT)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead/Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our dynamic energy technology company, Minum Brazil . Your primary responsibility will be to take ownership of a business-critical platform that enhances our operations in energy consumption management, billing, and distributed energy resources. This hands-on role requires you to diagnose, resolve, and improve an existing application while developing new functionalities to support our business growth.

Responsibilities

• Assume technical ownership of the existing Ruby on Rails production application.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues impacting business operations.
• Previous experience acting as a technical lead, team lead, lead engineer, or senior engineer responsible for guiding other developers.
• Develop and deploy new features related to billing, contracts, energy allocation, and reporting.
• Maintain and enhance the existing Rails codebase, focusing on technical debt, security, reliability, and performance.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL queries and data workflows.
• Utilize BigQuery for reporting and analytics.
• Manage and develop integrations with third-party APIs and ERP systems.
• Oversee background processing using tools like Sidekiq and Redis.
• Maintain and improve the Rails frontend using Hotwire/Turbo/Stimulus and TailwindCSS.
• Deploy and maintain applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on APIs, data migrations, and system integrations.
• Uphold strong testing practices and clear technical documentation.

Required Skills

• 5–7+ years of professional Ruby on Rails experience with production applications.
• Proficiency in maintaining and extending existing Rails codebases.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, relational data modeling, SQL, and query optimization.
• Experience with API development and third-party system integrations.
• Familiarity with background processing technologies like Sidekiq and Redis.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks such as RSpec or Minitest and modern Git/CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Cloud SQL.
• Proficiency in BigQuery or similar analytical data warehouses.
• Familiarity with Hotwire, Turbo, Stimulus, and/or TailwindCSS.
• Experience with web scraping, browser automation, or integrating with unreliable external systems.
• Experience with billing, invoicing, payments, subscriptions, financial reconciliation, or ERP systems.
• Experience integrating with platforms such as Odoo.
• Background in energy, utilities, IoT, metering, or other data-intensive industries.
