Juliana Torrisi, RecruiterAbout the Company
Client is a German technology company building professional drone solutions, training programs, and secure, scalable platforms for autonomous operations — making advanced drone technology practical and reliable for industrial and public-sector use.
The Role
Client is rewriting its core software stack — the platform running its drone dock systems, covering mission planning, live video streaming from drones, and geolocation. You'll join a small, senior team (product owner + 2 developers) to help make the stack more feature-proof, particularly on the integration side, opening it up for expanded capabilities and AI-driven post-processing use cases.
What you'll work on:
- Full-stack development across the platform's TypeScript/Angular/Node.js stack
- Building and maintaining APIs and event-driven services
- Working within — and improving — a complex, existing codebase during an active rewrite
- Video stream handling and geolocation-related features
- Optional: hardware/software integration work, with scheduled access to physical drone dock hardware
What we're looking for:
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Angular
- Experience with Node.js, APIs, and event-driven architecture
-Comfortable ramping quickly into complex, existing codebases and delivering scoped assignments independently
- Practices clean architecture, automated testing, and clear documentation
- Comfortable working within an AI-assisted development and DevOps workflow (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT/Codex)
- Structured, reliable communicator in English or German
Nice to have:
Background in GIS, IoT, telemetry, robotics, or drones
Engagement details:
- Remote, EU timezone preferred (within ~3 hrs of CET)
~25 hrs/week to start, with flexibility up to full-time based on fit
- Initial 3-month contract, extendable — Client is open to long-term collaboration for the right person
- Start: as soon as possible, though skillset fit takes priority over timeline
Interview process:
- Fit and case-study interview
- Technical/structural design discussion
