Software Developer for E-Hailing Startup

Role Overview

Bro Cabs, a pioneering South African e-hailing startup, is dedicated to delivering safe, affordable, and reliable transportation solutions. We are seeking a skilled Software Developer to enhance our platform, delivering seamless ride experiences for both commuters and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve mobile applications using Flutter/Dart tailored for both riders and drivers.
• Enhance and maintain our backend and admin dashboard using Laravel/PHP.
• Integrate and manage Firebase services, including push notifications, analytics, authentication, and cloud functions.
• Implement and optimize third-party APIs, such as Google Maps, payment gateways, and SMS providers.
• Ensure code is secure, scalable, and well-documented.
• Collaborate with the team to develop new features, fix bugs, and improve performance.

Required Skills

• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong skills in Flutter/Dart for mobile development.
• Proficiency in Laravel/PHP for backend development.
• Experience with Firebase services, including Push Notifications, Firestore, Authentication, and Analytics.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with MySQL and database optimization.
• Understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud hosting.
• Previous work experience in e-hailing, ride-sharing, or transport-related platforms.
• A sensibility for UI/UX and the ability to implement clean, user-friendly designs.
