Jane Cervantes, RecruiterABOUT the Company
Client is a performance marketing agency running paid acquisition across B2B, e-commerce, and consumer brands — long-sales-cycle accounts where revenue closes in a CRM, and transactional ones where it closes in a cart. Budget decisions get made off the numbers in these reports, so the measurement layer has to hold up end to end.
You’d own tracking architecture across the full portfolio rather than maintain a single stack, working directly with the practitioners running each channel — no layers, and no handing your spec to someone else to build.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re hiring a Senior Tracking & Attribution Lead to own tracking, pixel, and platform setup across our client portfolio — from browser-side tags to server-side infrastructure to CRM connection points.
This person makes sure every channel setup is pristine: conversion tracking fires correctly, attribution settings are configured intentionally, lead and transaction data flows cleanly from source to CRM to ad platforms, and clients can trust the numbers in every report.
You’ll report to our Chief Growth Officer and work closely with our Head of Analytics, our CEO, and every growth team member — search, paid social, creative — to make sure their channels are measured correctly.
WHAT YOU’LL DRIVE
- Tracking audits and implementations — full-stack reviews of tags, pixels, conversion events, and attribution settings across new and existing clients, with prioritized fix lists.
- Google Tag Manager, web and server — installations, upgrades, dataLayer planning and implementation, custom event configuration, and server-side tagging via GTM Server containers (Stape.io, Cloudflare, or similar).
- GA4 ownership — implementations, enhanced e-commerce tracking, custom definitions, cross-domain tracking, data filters and internal traffic exclusions, server-side GA4, and ongoing debugging and data integrity checks.
- Multi-platform conversion tracking — Meta Pixel and Conversions API, Google Ads Enhanced Conversions and offline conversion imports, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag and conversion events, TikTok, Pinterest, and Reddit.
- CRM and commerce connection points — connect form fills, lead data, and purchase events to CRMs and commerce platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, or similar), configure closed-loop reporting, and pass qualified stages back to ad platforms via offline conversions and CAPI.
- Attribution configuration — set and document attribution settings across GA4 and the ad platforms intentionally, and explain the tradeoffs to clients and internal teams.
- Privacy and consent — cookie consent solutions, Google Consent Mode v2, and GDPR/CCPA-compliant tracking design.
- Dashboards and reporting support — Looker Studio dashboard builds and troubleshooting, blended data sources, and connector integrations such as Supermetrics.
- QA and monitoring — establish testing processes for every launch, monitor for tracking breakage, and catch data issues before clients do.
- Documentation and training — maintain clear measurement documentation per client and train internal team members on tracking best practices.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Treats tracking as infrastructure, not a checklist — builds scalable, accurate, privacy-compliant setups that hold up as clients grow.
- Is obsessive about data integrity and QA — you debug until the numbers reconcile, and you document what you build.
- Understands both funnels deeply — lead forms, MQL/SQL progression, and CRM sync on one side; carts, purchase events, and e-commerce measurement on the other — and how to feed qualified data back to ad platforms in either case.
- Communicates clearly with non-technical stakeholders — translating tracking decisions into business impact.
- Stays current in a changing landscape — privacy regulation, consent requirements, cookie deprecation, and platform API changes.
WHAT YOU NEED
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in marketing analytics, tag management, and conversion tracking implementation, ideally across multiple industries or an agency client portfolio.
- Expert-level Google Tag Manager, including server-side GTM containers and dataLayer architecture.
- Expert-level GA4, including migrations, custom definitions, and debugging.
- Demonstrated server-side tracking implementations (GTM Server, Stape.io, Cloudflare, or comparable) and Meta CAPI setups.
- Multi-platform pixel and conversion tracking experience: Meta, Google Ads including Enhanced Conversions, Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest.
- Lead-gen tracking experience: form tracking, CRM integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar), offline conversion uploads, and closed-loop attribution.
- E-commerce tracking experience: purchase and enhanced e-commerce events on Shopify, WooCommerce, or custom builds.
- Strong grasp of attribution models and settings across GA4 and the ad platforms, and the ability to explain attribution vs. incrementality in plain language.
- Privacy and compliance fluency: consent management platforms, Google Consent Mode, GDPR, and CCPA.
- Looker Studio proficiency, including blended sources and connector-based reporting.
- Rigorous QA habits and clear documentation practices.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Discipline working within a project management system. We use ClickUp; prior ClickUp experience isn’t required.
NICE TO HAVE
- SQL and BigQuery experience, including the GA4 BigQuery export.
- Experience with AppsFlyer or other MMPs for mobile measurement.
- AI tooling proficiency for analysis, debugging, or automation, including agentic workflows.
- Google Ads scripts or platform API experience for monitoring and automation.
- Experience designing tracking infrastructure for scaling businesses and advising on martech stack decisions.
- Analytics training experience — teaching GA4, GTM, or Looker Studio to teams
