An external development agency will deliver the MVP; we need independent technical oversight.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Architect or Fractional CTO to oversee and validate the technical work of our outsourced agency.

This is not a hands-on coding role—it is architecture governance, code review, compliance validation, and milestone approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Review & validate system architecture (AWS UAE backend, RDS, S3, Supabase for non-PHI, secure messaging, AI pipeline)
• Conduct code reviews each milestone for security, scalability, and engineering quality
• Ensure full compliance with GDPR, UAE PDPL, and HIPAA-aligned safeguards
• Provide written milestone approvals/rejections with risks and recommendations
• Join periodic stand-ups, guide the agency, and flag issues early
• Produce concise technical reports throughout the 16–18 week project

Required Experience

Technical Expertise

• 7+ years as Senior Architect, Lead Engineer, or Fractional CTO
• Strong experience with regulated or medical/healthcare systems
• Deep knowledge of:
  *AWS (RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
  *Next.js, Node.js / NestJS or Python / FastAPI
  *PostgreSQL schema design
  *Secure messaging architectures
  *AI/LLM safe integration patterns

Compliance Experience

• Built or reviewed systems involving PHI
• Strong understanding of GDPR, UK GDPR, UAE PDPL, HIPAA equivalents
• Practical exposure to encryption, RBAC, audit logging, and data residency

Leadership & Review Skills

• Able to challenge and guide external development teams
• Clear communication with non-technical founders
• Experience conducting structured code and architecture reviews in sprints

Nice to Have

• Experience in marketplaces, booking platforms, or travel integrations
• Background with microservices, caching layers, retry logic
