Why This Role Matters

You'll help build the core backend systems that power mission-critical financial workflows.

Beyond writing code, you'll own technical solutions from initial problem definition through production deployment. You'll help define architectural direction, establish engineering best practices, and demonstrate how AI-assisted development can increase engineering velocity while maintaining reliability, security, and maintainability.

What You'll Build

• Design and develop scalable backend services using C# and .NET.
• Own features from technical discovery through architecture, implementation, testing, and production deployment.
• Build secure APIs, distributed services, and cloud-native applications.
• Design data models and integration patterns for complex business workflows.
• Develop proof-of-concepts to evaluate technical approaches before production implementation.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate implementation while maintaining engineering quality.
• Establish appropriate context, testing strategies, and guardrails for AI-generated code.
• Review code for correctness, security, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Build automated testing, observability, and validation into the software delivery lifecycle.
• Mentor fellow engineers through architecture discussions, technical reviews, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Identify opportunities to build reusable engineering components, internal tooling, automation, and AI-powered developer workflows.

Who We're Looking For

Must Have

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on building production backend systems using C# and .NET / .NET Core.
• Proven experience designing and delivering scalable distributed systems, REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and cloud-native applications.
• Strong system design and software architecture skills, with experience owning technical decisions from design through production deployment.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), CI/CD pipelines, containers, and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, backend application architecture, and production engineering best practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms as part of day-to-day engineering workflows.
• Ability to critically review AI-generated code, identifying architectural, security, testing, and quality concerns before production.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Experience building automated tests and maintaining high standards for software quality and reliability.
• Comfortable mentoring other engineers through technical reviews and architecture discussions.
• Based in India with availability to collaborate closely with the engineering team.

Nice to Have

• Experience building frontend applications with React and TypeScript.
• Experience within enterprise SaaS, fintech, legal technology, billing, or payments platforms.
• Exposure to AI technologies such as:
  • AI agents
  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • LLM-powered applications
• Experience building internal engineering platforms, reusable tooling, or developer automation.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
