Senior React Native + Supabase Developer

Role Overview

Monsieur Meursault, an agent-native iOS sommelier app, is seeking a Senior React Native Engineer. This role involves taking ownership of an ongoing architecture refactor, implementing a comprehensive UX rework and leading the App Store submission. This position offers the potential for a long-term technical partnership, as the founder is non-technical and relies on this hire for technical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the refactor of the app's architecture using agent-native techniques.
• Implement a significant UX redesign across multiple screens.
• Manage and execute the App Store submission process.
• Make key technical decisions to drive the app's development and launch.

Required Skills

• React Native and iOS Experience: Proven experience in shipping at least one React Native app to the Apple App Store, navigating the review process, and handling build configurations, signing, provisioning, and debugging in Xcode.
• Supabase Expertise: Proficiency in deploying Supabase in production environments, writing and reviewing Row Level Security policies, and managing Supabase Edge Functions with Postgres.
• LLM Agent Architecture: Experience in building or modifying agent loops using LLM APIs, with an understanding of tool composition, JSON schema design, prompt engineering, and observability.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Stripe React Native SDK.
• Familiarity with OCR/image-to-data pipelines, particularly for wine label scanning.
• Knowledge of subscription pricing logic, plan limits, and feature gating.
• Experience with push notifications via Firebase or similar services.
• Ability to work asynchronously with a non-technical founder.
