About the Company

Our client is an early-stage technology company building a mobile-first platform focused on community safety and location-aware experiences. The team is developing an intuitive, privacy-conscious application that enables users to connect, share information, and access real-time, location-based insights.

As one of the first engineering hires, you'll play a significant role in bringing the initial product to market.

You'll lead the technical development of the MVP, turning product designs into a production-ready iOS application.

What You'll Build

• Develop the iOS MVP using React Native and TypeScript.
• Build backend services using Supabase, Firebase, AWS Amplify, or similar backend platforms.
• Translate Figma designs into polished, production-ready mobile interfaces.
• Build a filterable feed supporting text and image content with modern social-style interactions.
• Implement map-based content discovery using geolocation and location pins.
• Develop commenting and threaded reply functionality.
• Build secure authentication using Apple Sign-In, OAuth, and JWT.
• Integrate Stripe for payment functionality.
• Implement strong privacy and security practices, particularly for user identity and location data.
• Prepare, test, and submit the application to the Apple App Store.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on architecture, technical tradeoffs, and product decisions.
• Maintain clear communication in a fully remote environment using collaboration tools such as Slack or Discord.
• Leverage modern development workflows and AI-assisted coding tools where appropriate.

Who We're Looking For

Must Have (Hard Requirements)

• 4+ years of professional experience developing mobile applications with React Native, with TypeScript as the primary language.
• Proven experience building and deploying production iOS applications, including successfully publishing at least one app to the Apple App Store.
• Full-stack development experience spanning React Native mobile applications and backend services using Supabase, Firebase, AWS Amplify, or comparable Backend-as-a-Service platforms.
• Experience implementing secure authentication using Apple Sign-In, OAuth, and JWT.
• Experience integrating Stripe or comparable payment platforms into production applications.
• Strong experience translating Figma designs into responsive, polished mobile user interfaces.
• Solid understanding of mobile UX patterns, particularly social feed and community-driven experiences.
• Strong knowledge of application security, user privacy, and secure handling of sensitive location data.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a remote engineering environment.

Nice to Have (Bonus Points)

• Experience building social networking, community, marketplace, safety, or location-based mobile applications.
• Experience implementing interactive maps and geolocation features.
• Experience designing privacy-first architectures for applications handling sensitive user information.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar platforms.
• Experience partnering with early-stage startups on MVP planning, technical architecture, and product strategy.
