Senior QA Engineer (QA Engineering/e-commerce/JS)- FT Freelance - Americas

• Person to person car sharing platform
• Web, iOS mobile app, and Android mobile app

Responsibilities

• Perform testing (system, end-to-end integration, automated, performance, smoke, black box, white box, usability, regression, break, and failover), including troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Design, write, and execute both automated and manual software QA validation tests
• Ensure test results are thoroughly and accurately documented
• Effectively communicate obstacles and blocked tasks to QA Manager and project teams
• Able to design and implement test cases in a rapid prototyping environment with minimal supervision
• Report issues in bug tracking database
• Review product requirements and technical design documents to understand how the feature works on our platform and create effective testing strategies

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on Quality Assurance experience
• Background in web and mobile QA methodologies, concepts, processes and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for system software
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies
• Experience with test case management & bug tracking systems
• Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
• Superior written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to technology and business stakeholders
• Possess great problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to learn and understand the functionality of multiple applications and systems under test and achieve proficiency in related technologies and tools required for testing
• Experience with Agile Methodologies
• Able to create automated test scripts in JS

Nice to have

• Hands-on testing experience in both web applications and back-end services, including functional API testing, integration testing, UI functionality, and usability testing
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JS
• Proficient in one or more of the testing tools: Selenium, Webdriver.IO, Playwright, Postman or another web/mobile automation tool
• Experience in working with SQL databases
• Familiar with HTTP APIs and RESTful web services, Understanding of web browser APIs and behavior

Looking for:

1. Able to code/automate web testing in JavaScript
2. Able to verbally communicate and write well. Basic requirement of QA to articulate why something is a bug and describe it.
3. Have a minimum of 3 years of software QA experience, but not jump around at each company for less than 1-2 years.
4. Demonstrate a true passion for QA and continued learning
5. Understanding of how web pages and mobile apps work. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
6. A plus if the candidate has experience testing API’s and databases.
