Senior Mobile Full-Stack Engineer — Transportation Marketplace (PT-LATAM/EMEA/APAC)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mobile Full-Stack Engineer to join our team in developing a compliance-first transportation marketplace MVP for the Caribbean. This innovative platform is akin to an on-demand ride-booking service, with a key focus on adhering to local transportation regulations, licensed-driver requirements, payment constraints, and data-protection obligations. The role involves comprehensive development responsibilities, encompassing mobile applications, backend APIs, SQL databases, and more.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust mobile applications using Flutter or React Native, ensuring cross-platform functionality on iOS and Android.
• Design and implement backend services and APIs using Node.js, with a preference for Express.js or NestJS frameworks.
• Manage and optimize relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Integrate geolocation services and maps, utilizing Google Maps APIs for location-based workflows.
• Implement flexible payment integration solutions that avoid dependency on a single provider.
• Build admin dashboards and tools for user verification, role-based access control, and driver management.
• Ensure the MVP is production-ready, including testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
• Work closely with the client to translate product specs into wireframes, user flows, and technical plans.

Required Skills

• Expertise in Flutter or React Native for mobile app development.
• Strong backend development skills with Node.js.
• Proficiency in SQL database management, with experience in PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with maps and geolocation technologies.
• Proven ability to integrate payment systems and manage payment workflows.
• Competence in building admin tools and handling user authentication and role-based access.
• Capability to oversee the full development lifecycle from concept to deployment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in transportation, logistics, or marketplace app development.
• Familiarity with Firebase, particularly push notifications.
• Background in compliance-heavy or regulated industry products.
• Understanding of data privacy, secure document handling, and audit logs.
• Experience with Caribbean, LATAM, or regional payment gateways.
• Cloud deployment know-how with platforms like AWS, GCP, or Firebase.
• Skills in wireframing and early-stage product design.
• Experience working directly with founders or in small, early-stage teams.
