About the Role
We're building Hilda, an AI-powered recruiting agent that automates candidate screening and interview scheduling via SMS. We're looking for an experienced full stack engineer to help us launch our MVP within the next 2-3 months.
The Role
We're seeking a senior full-stack engineer who can accelerate our development. We have a junior engineer on the team and existing codebase, but need someone with deeper expertise in AI agents, SMS systems, and B2B SaaS architecture to help us move faster and smarter.
Start Date: Within 2 weeks
Commitment: 20 hours/week initially, with potential to scale to full-time
Location: Remote (preference for Latin America, Europe, or regions with 6-hour time zone overlap with US Eastern Time)
What We're Building
An AI-driven SMS chatbot that:
- Integrates with existing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Automatically engages candidates via SMS when they apply
- Conducts intelligent screening conversations
- Schedules interviews directly with recruiters
- Provides a web dashboard for recruiters to track conversations and manage interviews

- Frontend: Next.js, React
- Hosting: Vercel
- Database: PostgreSQL on Supabase
- APIs:
*Twilio (SMS)
*Nylas (calendar/scheduling)
*GetStream (video conferencing)
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate and train AI models for intelligent SMS-based candidate screening
- Build robust SMS functionality and resolve existing bugs
- Integrate with multiple ATS platforms (or unified ATS APIs)
- Develop web application features for recruiter dashboard
- Review existing codebase and create development roadmap
- Work autonomously while collaborating with founder and junior engineer
Must-Have Skills
- AI/ML Experience - Building AI agents, chatbots, or conversational AI systems
- SMS Development - Experience with Twilio or similar SMS APIs
- Full Stack Development - Strong proficiency in Next.js, React, PostgreSQL
- B2B SaaS Experience - Built products from early stage/MVP
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) integration
- Familiarity with Vercel, Supabase
- Experience with Nylas or calendar APIs
- Video conferencing API integration experience
- Built products in HR tech or recruiting space
What Success Looks Like
- Quickly ramp up on existing codebase and provide development plan within first few hours
- Implement robust AI agent that handles unpredictable candidate responses
- Build reliable SMS workflows that handle edge cases
- Integrate with major ATS platforms or unified ATS APIs
