Company
Aqua Alarm delivers real-time water-quality insights for utilities. Our work spans sensor/data acquisition, a SaaS condition-monitoring platform, and models that flag issues in the field. We have an active pilot in Wales, three hydro engineers (NO/FIN/ID), and a hardware/infra team in Poland.
Role
We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Developer to build core product features across our Python backend and React front end, and to keep our AWS platform reliable and observable. You’ll collaborate closely with hydro engineers and the Poland hardware/infra team.
Responsibilities
- Ship end-to-end features: design APIs/services in Python and build React components/pages that turn data into clear operator workflows.
- Backend (Python): services & jobs, data ingestion, auth, testing, performance tuning.
- Frontend (React): modern component patterns, state/data fetching, responsiveness, basic accessibility.
- Cloud & DevOps (AWS): contribute to IaC, CI/CD, logging/metrics/tracing, cost/perf hygiene, and security basics.
- IoT integration: work with the hardware team on telemetry ingestion and robust interfaces for device → cloud pipelines.
- Quality: raise code standards, improve test coverage, define SLIs/SLOs, write runbooks, and participate in on-call/light incident response.
- Collaboration: communicate progress/risks clearly; help scope work with domain experts.
Must-Haves (Full-Stack First)
- 5+ years professional experience building production web products.
- Full-stack: strong Python (APIs, async/jobs, testing) and React (modern hooks, state mgmt, routing).
- AWS familiarity: comfortable contributing to IaC (Terraform/CDK or similar), CI/CD, and observability (logs/metrics/traces).
- Track record shipping in ambiguous/time-boxed settings (startup or similar).
- Clear, proactive communicator with EU time-zone overlap.
Nice to Have (Data/AI & Domain)
- Data/AI exposure: practical ML integration, feature pipelines, model evaluation/monitoring in production.
- IoT/edge: gateways, buffering/retry patterns, device health.
- Time-series analytics/dashboards (downsampling, thresholds/alerts).
- Infra depth: cost optimization, event-driven patterns, CDK/Terraform expertise.
- Domain: water/environmental or utilities experience.
