Role Overview
The Role: Build the Product Experience
As a Frontend-Leaning Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll play a central role in shaping the product experience from day one. You’ll own complex, data-heavy user interfaces while collaborating closely with backend systems to deliver fast, intuitive, and reliable workflows.
This is a high-impact role for engineers who enjoy product ownership, move quickly, and care deeply about usability and clarity in complex systems.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Own the Frontend Experience: Design, build, and maintain responsive, data-dense dashboards and workflows using modern frontend frameworks
- Translate Complexity into Clarity: Work closely with backend systems to surface complex logistics and AI-driven data in a way that is intuitive for users
- End-to-End Feature Delivery: Take ownership of features from product discovery and technical design through production release and iteration
- Collaborate on System Design: Contribute to API design, data contracts, and system architecture to ensure frontend and backend scale together
- Mentor and Scale: Help shape engineering best practices, contribute to team culture, and support future hires as the team grows
Technical Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
- Modern Frontend Expertise: Strong proficiency in React, with experience building complex, high-performance user interfaces
- Full-Stack Capability: Comfortable working across the stack, including backend services (e.g., Python) and APIs
- Data & APIs: Solid understanding of how frontend systems interact with APIs, databases, and real-time data
- Databases: Working knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL) and data modeling to support frontend use cases
- AI/ML Integration (Plus): Familiarity integrating AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) or consuming outputs from vector databases is a bonus
Success Metrics (How We’ll Measure You)
- Feature Velocity: Ability to ship polished, user-facing features quickly from wireframe to production
- Frontend Quality: Performance, reliability, and usability of frontend systems in production
- Code Quality: Clean, maintainable, well-documented code that scales with the team
- Product Impact: Measurable improvements in user adoption, workflow efficiency, and overall product experience
- Autonomy: Ability to solve complex product and technical problems with minimal supervision
Is This the Right Fit?
You’ll Love This Role If You:
- Thrive in early-stage, zero-to-one environments
- Are a product-minded engineer who cares deeply about user experience
- Prefer ownership and trust over rigid ticket queues
- Enjoy turning complex systems into simple, usable interfaces
This Might Not Be for You If You:
- Prefer working only on isolated frontend components with little backend context
- Need heavy process, large teams, or fixed long-term roadmaps to be productive
- Are uncomfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration in an early-stage startup
