Full Stack Engineer (Backend Leaning)
The Role: Build the Foundation
As a Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll shape both our product and technology from the ground up. You’ll help define system architecture, inform product direction, and ship features that deliver real value – fast. This is a high-leverage role for someone who enjoys full ownership, moves quickly, and builds with purpose.
● Architect Scalable Systems: Design and implement robust backend architectures (APIs, database schemas, and microservices) capable of handling complex logistics data and AI model orchestration.
● Lead Technical Execution: Take full ownership of the product lifecycle, from initial technical discovery and scoping to production monitoring and maintenance.
● Optimize Frontend Performance: Build and maintain responsive, data-heavy dashboards using modern frameworks, ensuring a seamless experience for users managing real-time logistics.
● Mentor and Scale: Help build the engineering culture, mentor future hires, and contribute to the technical vision as the company grows.
● Experience: 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.
● Backend Expertise: Mastery of backend languages (e.g., Python) and deep understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and performance tuning.
● Modern Frontend: Proficiency in React, with the ability to build complex interfaces that make sophisticated backend data intuitive.
● Database Design: Advanced knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases, including schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
● AI/ML Integration: Familiarity with integrating AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic) or vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate) is a significant plus.
● Feature Velocity: Ability to move from a conceptual wireframe to a production-ready feature within defined sprint cycles.
● System Reliability: Maintaining high uptime and low error rates for core logistics services and AI-driven workflows.
● Code Quality: Production of clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that enables other engineers to build on top of your work easily.
● Product Impact: Success of implemented features based on user adoption and internal logistics efficiency metrics.
● Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical roadblocks with minimal supervision.
● You thrive in the "zero-to-one" phase and find "perfect" documentation a luxury rather than a requirement.
● You are a product-minded engineer who cares as much about the why as the how.
● You prefer a high-trust environment where you are given a problem, not a set of tickets.
● You prefer working on a single, isolated component of a system.
● You require a large management structure and clearly defined quarterly roadmaps to be productive.
● You are uncomfortable with the ambiguity and pivots common in early-stage startups.
