Juliana Torrisi, RecruiterRole Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Full-Stack Platform Engineer to lead the technical development of a newly established internal operations platform for an enterprise services business. This platform is designed to unify various tools such as project management boards, spreadsheets, and workflow systems into a single, efficient hub for managing customer programs, internal operations, scheduling, communications, user experiences, and AI-assisted workflows.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the current development agency to understand the existing architecture, codebase, and deployment processes.
- Transition to become the sole technical owner of the platform, ensuring its maintenance, improvement, and extension.
- Address the initial backlog of bugs and feature enhancements, making pragmatic technical decisions for long-term maintainability.
- Develop features across the full stack, including a TypeScript monorepo with React frontend, Node/Express API, PostgreSQL database, microservices, and AWS infrastructure.
- Translate business requirements into reliable product features by working directly with non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure quality through rigorous testing and coordinate user acceptance testing with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and extend AI capabilities within the platform, focusing on real-time guidance, user insights, and post-session summaries.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in production TypeScript codebases.
- Expertise in React, Node.js, and Express for full-stack development.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including hand-written SQL and disciplined schema migrations.
- Proven ability to independently manage a production platform and work across frontend, backend, database, and deployment workflows.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical tradeoffs and work closely with product owners and non-technical stakeholders.
- Availability for significant overlap with US Eastern Time.
Nice to Have
- Experience transitioning from an agency-built or externally developed codebase.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, IAM, Secrets Manager, and RDS.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows like GitHub Actions.
- Experience with component libraries like Mantine, MUI, or Ant Design, and state management tools such as TanStack Query or Zustand.
- Knowledge of event-driven systems like RabbitMQ and real-time features using WebSockets or Socket.io.
- Experience with AI technologies, including AWS Bedrock or prompt engineering.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace integrations and GitOps workflows.
- Understanding of security-conscious development practices and transactional email platforms.
