We’re looking for a highly independent Senior Full-Stack Engineer to take ownership of two existing software products that are approaching a major January 1, 2027 launch milestone.
This is not a greenfield role. Both applications are already substantially built, and the successful engineer will be responsible for understanding the existing architecture, critically reviewing the codebase, strengthening security and reliability, completing launch-critical functionality, and supporting continued product development after launch.
You’ll work directly with the business owner and alongside an external security firm, with significant responsibility for making sound technical and architectural decisions independently.
What You’ll Work On
You’ll support two connected products built on a shared modern web stack:
Soccer Zone USA
An established retail and team-commerce platform that is already live in production. The platform includes:
- Consumer retail storefront
- Club and team stores
- Administrative dashboards
- Custom kit Design Studio
- Point-of-sale functionality
- Internal order management workflows
The existing application is substantial, with approximately 190 pages, 425 API endpoints, and 200 database tables.
The January launch will also introduce a new internal order board that receives kit requests generated through the PlayLogic platform.
PlayLogic
A multi-tenant sports technology platform designed for youth sports organizations.
The initial January release will support one soccer club and includes:
- Club management functionality
- Company administration console
- Player and member onboarding
- League and organization views
- Registration workflows
- Stripe Connect payments
- Multi-tenant club infrastructure
The primary launch product is a responsive Next.js web application. A React Native mobile application using Expo has also been started and will be developed and deployed after the initial web launch.
Future functionality may include video, messaging, tournaments, medical information, expanded player profiles, and additional sports.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Take ownership of two existing Next.js/TypeScript applications and become deeply familiar with their architecture and business logic
- Review existing code critically and identify technical, security, scalability, and maintainability risks
- Harden both applications ahead of the January 1, 2027 launch
- Design and maintain secure multi-tenant architecture using Supabase and PostgreSQL
- Implement and review Supabase Row Level Security policies and tenant isolation
- Ensure users, clubs, organizations, and sensitive data remain correctly isolated across tenants
- Build and maintain backend APIs, application logic, database workflows, and frontend functionality
- Maintain and extend Stripe and Stripe Connect payment integrations
- Work with Vercel, Supabase, Upstash, and related production infrastructure
- Translate business requirements into sound technical solutions without requiring detailed engineering specifications
- Work closely with an external security firm to address security findings and strengthen both applications
- Support debugging, production issues, performance improvements, and ongoing feature development
- Contribute to the existing React Native/Expo mobile application as the product expands
- Help establish stronger engineering practices around security, testing, maintainability, and production readiness
What We’re Looking For
- Strong professional experience building and maintaining production full-stack web applications
- Advanced experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript
- Strong experience with Supabase and PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience implementing PostgreSQL/Supabase Row Level Security
- Strong understanding of multi-tenant application architecture and data isolation
- Experience integrating Stripe, ideally including Stripe Connect
- Strong backend and API development experience
- Experience working with large, existing production codebases rather than only greenfield projects
- Ability to evaluate existing architecture and make independent technical decisions
- Strong understanding of application security, authorization, authentication, and data privacy
- Comfortable owning work with limited technical supervision
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical implementation
Nice to Have
- Experience with React Native and Expo
- Experience deploying mobile applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play
- Experience with Vercel
- Experience with Upstash
- Experience building SaaS platforms for multiple organizations or customers
- Experience with youth sports, education, family-oriented, or other applications involving sensitive user data
- Experience working with external security or penetration-testing teams
- Experience scaling applications from early customers to large user populations
What Success Looks Like
In the near term, success means understanding both codebases quickly, strengthening the shared security foundation, addressing launch-critical issues, and helping both products ship reliably on January 1, 2027.
Longer term, this engineer will become a trusted technical owner across both platforms—helping guide architecture, security, product development, mobile expansion, and scalability as the products grow.
