About the Company
A fast-growing manufacturing business is rebuilding its internal production management platform to replace a non-scalable no-code system. The company is transitioning to NetSuite as its ERP and aims to create a robust, integrated solution that will serve as the operational backbone for production, warehouse, and quality management. The team values collaboration, speed, and pragmatic engineering—balancing innovation with execution to bring real impact to the factory floor.
About the Role
We are looking for a part-time Full-Stack Developer to lead the rebuild of a custom production management system (“Rudder”) that will replace an existing AppSheet-based tool. This role will involve close collaboration with the product lead in Dallas, working iteratively to design and develop core features while ensuring seamless integration with NetSuite.
You’ll play a key role in translating a proven prototype into a production-grade system, bringing both technical expertise and creative problem-solving to modernize how production data, inventory, and work orders are managed.
Core objectives:
- Develop the next version of “Rudder,” a production management system with real-time scheduling, work order visibility, and Bill of Materials (BOM) tracking.
- Integrate the system with NetSuite, which serves as the company’s core ERP.
- Build scalable architecture to replace a Google Sheets-based back end.
- Enable real-time production visibility using AI camera integrations for throughput counting, quality management, etc.
- Support a highly collaborative, iterative build process with daily communication and feedback loops.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in full-stack development (platform/language agnostic).
- Strong understanding of API integrations with NetSuite
- Experience building data-intensive applications with scalability and real-time visibility in mind.
- Comfortable with collaborative, iterative workflows (frequent syncs, versioning, quick feedback).
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work with partial time zone overlap with Dallas (CST).
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with AI coding models (e.g., Claude Sonnet) for rapid prototyping and automation.
- Background in manufacturing systems, including exposure to industrial controls (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and digital quality recordkeeping.
- Understanding of integration middleware or iPaaS tools (e.g., Soligo, Zapier, Make).
Additional Information
Engagement Type: Part-time freelance contract.
Collaboration: Requires a few hours of daily overlap with the Dallas (CST) time zone.
Process: Lean, two- to three-step interview process focused on technical alignment and collaboration fit.
Start: Immediate - core scheduling and BOM features are priority deliverables, with warehouse and quality modules to follow
