Senior Full Stack Developer - Part-time - Worldwide

About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with strong product instincts and a passion for solving real-world problems with scalable architecture. You’ll work directly with the founder to bring the MVP to life. From architecture through launch and lay the technical foundation for future growth.

Responsibilities:

• Own full-stack development of the MVP from architecture to deployment • Translate tax logic and flowcharts into programmatic decision trees
• Collaborate closely with the founder to iterate fast and refine UX
• Build scalable, testable, and secure APIs
• Optimize app performance and usability
• Recommend and implement best practices for scalability and data security • Build logic to determine e-filing eligibility for IRS forms
• Integrate PDF generation for paper filing workflows
• Support integration with IRS e-File APIs or 3rd-party transmission providers • Design submission tracking system with alerts/reminders

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development
• Strong experience with both frontend frameworks and backend architecture • Experience working in an early-stage or fast-paced startup environment • Comfortable taking ownership and building with limited specs
• Strong communicator with good judgment and product sense
• Bonus: Experience in fintech, regtech, compliance, or tax-related applications • Bonus: Familiarity with PDF generation, forms logic, or rule engines
• Frontend: React.js / Next.js / Vue.js
• Backend: Node.js / Python (FastAPI or Django)
• Database: PostgreSQL / MongoDB
• Infra: AWS / GCP / Azure
• Tools: GitHub, CI/CD, Docker, RESTful APIs, GraphQL
