Senior Front-End Engineer (HFT Dashboards & Visualizations) - FT Freelance - Worldwide

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Front-End Engineer to join our team, dedicated to designing, building, and maintaining our cutting-edge internal trading dashboards. These dashboards demand real-time data updates and highly customizable visualizations to support our high-frequency trading (HFT) workflows. You will have a pivotal role in developing and managing the next generation of customer-facing dashboards that leverage our advanced data pipeline and execution infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Real-Time Dashboards: Develop highly interactive dashboards to visualize complex market data, order flow, and system performance in real time.
• Data Visualization & UX: Work closely with traders and quants to design modular, intuitive interfaces capable of handling large data volumes with low latency.
• Framework & Architecture: Select and implement robust front-end frameworks such as React or Vue, ensuring scalability for both internal and external applications.
• Performance & Scalability: Optimize front-end performance to ensure minimal delays in data rendering, crucial for high-frequency trading.
• Future Expansion: Contribute to the design and launch of external/customer-facing products, with potential for leading the front-end team as it grows.

Required Skills

• Front-End Expertise: Demonstrated experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular), TypeScript, and real-time data handling.
• Complex Data Visualizations: Proficient with libraries like D3.js, Plotly, or ECharts, and capable of building custom visual solutions.
• Real-Time Systems: Knowledge of WebSockets, messaging queues, or streaming APIs for handling live data updates.
• Collaboration & Requirements Gathering: Skill in translating trader and quant needs into intuitive and maintainable front-end features.

Nice to Have

• Experience in HFT or low-latency environments, particularly in data display and user interaction.
• Background in fintech dashboards or high-performance charting solutions.
• Familiarity with backend technologies such as Python, Rust, or C to enhance integration between front-end and data pipeline architectures.
