About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Frontend Developer with deep expertise in React, Next.js, and TypeScript to refactor and improve an existing front-end codebase for our AI-powered political research platform. The goal of this short-term engagement is to make the application more secure, scalable, and maintainable, setting a strong foundation for future product development.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in frontend development with React and Next.js
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript
• Demonstrated ability to refactor code for scalability, maintainability, and security
• Clear understanding of modern frontend architecture and best practices
• Experience working with design systems or building UI components from scratch
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality code with minimal oversight

Nice to Have Skills

• Familiarity with Python and Django (for potential collaboration with backend)
• Prior experience working in early-stage startups or stealth-mode environments
• Understanding of AI or LLM-powered application workflows
• Experience integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data fetching in Next.js

Additional Information

• The codebase is relatively small, with much of it generated by AI and in need of expert cleanup
• This is a remote-friendly opportunity; we welcome applicants from anywhere
• No specific time zone requirements, but availability for async collaboration is a plus
• Preference given to candidates who can demonstrate code quality and architectural thinking
