Senior Data Architect (Fabric, Azure data platform) - Part-time - Nordic/EU

About the role

We're looking for a senior Data Architect and Data Engineer who has recent hands-on experience with the implementation of data and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate would have strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Platform, to analyze the current setup of the end customer of our client, and provide consultancy, which would be followed by implementation and can be extended 3-6 months or more. The candidate should be located in Europe, and preferably in the Nordic region (though latter is not required).

The current project is for their customer to analyze their current setup, and provide consultancy on the enhancements, best practices, and the implementation plan moving forward.

Tasks and Deliverables:

• Analyze the current architecture in Fabric
• Define architecture and target-state designs
• Implement the scalable and robust data platform in close collaboration with business stakeholders, development teams, and decision-makers
• Strategically and operationally translate business needs into technical solutions that deliver real value
• Develop ETL/ELT processes, build pipelines, model data, optimize performance, and ensure governance, quality, and security across the entire data lifecycle

Required Experience:

• Solid experience as a Data Architect
• Strong knowledge of Data Engineering
• Recent hands-on experience with the implementation of data and analytics solutions
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Platform
• Medallion architecture and lakehouse design
• ETL/ELT, batch and streaming pipelines
• Data Mesh and domain-driven data products
• Data Fabric, integration, and governance
• Data governance, data quality, and information modeling
• Scalability, security, and performance optimization
• Experience from energy-related projects
• Recognized for combining architectural vision, technical depth, and practical delivery capability to deliver data solutions that are scalable, sustainable, and business-critical

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with real-time analytics and AI/ML-ready data platforms
• Proficiency in a Scandinavian language

Engagement Highlights:

• Duration: 2-3 weeks for the initial analysis, and to be extended to 3-6 months or possibly more for the implementation
• Commitment: PT to start with, and to be ramped up to FT for the implementation
• Timezone/overlap: European based, and with a preference for Nordic countries
