Juliana Torrisi, RecruiterRole Overview
We are a B2B marketing agency engaged in a critical Commercetools (CT) implementation project. Having completed the platform selection, we are now entering the architecture definition and implementation planning phase. We seek a seasoned Senior Commercetools Practitioner to collaborate with our team and the client's CT account resources, ensuring a robust and efficient build from the onset.
Responsibilities
- Review and rigorously test the proposed commerce architecture, ensuring alignment with the client's product catalog, pricing models, customer segmentation, and order management requirements.
- Define the CT data model, including product types, attributes, categories, channels, price tiers, and customer groups, in accordance with the client's business logic.
- Establish API extension and subscription patterns for seamless integrations with ERP, OMS, PIM, business middleware, and payment infrastructure like Stripe.
- Develop project structure, environment strategy, and store/channel configuration to facilitate multi-region or multi-brand expansion without necessitating rework.
- Identify and document decisions that could lead to technical debt or limit scalability if not properly addressed from the beginning.
- Advise on headless frontend integration patterns, including Storefront API usage, cart and checkout flows, and session management.
- Participate actively in architecture review sessions with both the agency team and client stakeholders.
- Create concise yet comprehensive documentation of decisions, patterns, and their rationale to guide the implementation team.
Required Skills
- Successful delivery of 3 or more end-to-end CT implementations, with at least one being live in production.
- Experience with CT deployments for a “service configurator” sales model, where SKUs describe services and pricing/options depend on customer requirements.
- Deep expertise in CT's data model, including product types, custom objects, state machines, API extensions, and subscriptions.
- Proven experience in defining channel and store configurations for complex pricing, localization, or multi-brand scenarios.
- Familiarity with headless commerce architecture and composable stack design, integrating CT with a CMS, search, and payment layers.
- Knowledge of Stripe integration patterns within a CT-based architecture.
- Strong ability to communicate architecture decisions to both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with CT's Composable Commerce for specific regional infrastructure requirements, particularly in China.
- Familiarity with B2B/B2C commerce patterns, including account hierarchies and contract pricing.
- Previous experience in an agency or systems integrator context, balancing client constraints with long-term architectural health.
