Senior Ceph/Rook Engineer - Fulltime - EMEA

About the role

We are looking for a senior engineer for a full-time, long-term staff augmentation role focused on Ceph for a client-project in Poland, and wanted to check whether you have someone matching this profile.

The ideal candidate should have strong production experience with Ceph, especially building, upgrading, scaling, and maintaining highly available clusters. Experience with large-scale or PB-scale Ceph environments would be highly valuable.

The role also requires hands-on Kubernetes experience, specifically with Ceph integration through the Rook operator. The engineer should be comfortable troubleshooting performance, availability, scaling, OSD/MON/MGR issues, capacity planning, recovery, and production incidents.

The main technical requirements are:

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or storage engineering
• Deep hands-on experience with Ceph in production environments
• Experience with Rook operator and Kubernetes
• Strong Linux system administration and scripting skills
• Experience with Ansible and Helm
• Monitoring and observability experience with Prometheus and Grafana
• Ability to troubleshoot storage performance, availability, and scaling issues
• Fluent English and good communication skills

Bonus experience would include OpenStack, especially Ceph integration with Cinder, Glance, Nova, or RBD, as well as cloud-native CI/CD pipelines or open-source contributions.
