Senior Backend Software Engineer WW-PT

Role Overview

Join our innovative Berlin-based company as a Senior Backend Software Engineer. As a remote freelancer, you'll be instrumental in transforming the food supply chain through cutting-edge software solutions. Collaborate with our dynamic CRM team to develop and enhance CRM and analytics products used by food and beverage distributors across Western Europe and the US.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to build comprehensive, end-to-end features.
• Scope technical work and create detailed RFC/TDDs for team review.
• Work in tandem with fellow engineers, offering constructive feedback on pull requests, reviewing TDDs, and engaging in pair programming and brainstorming sessions.
• Actively participate in team and organizational meetings.
• Address technical debt, resolve bugs, and implement tooling improvements.
• Share expertise through quality documentation and knowledge transfer within the team.

Required Skills

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years of freelancing experience.
• Proven track record of delivering features in product teams, collaborating with multiple stakeholders and engineers.
• Demonstrated experience in leading project implementations from start to finish.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency with the following technologies:
  • Node/Typescript
  • Framework: NestJS
  • Cloud: AWS (ECS, Dynamo, SNS/SQS, Lambda)
  • Infrastructure: Kubernetes
  • Postgres
  • React
• Proven ability to integrate AI into day-to-day workflows, such as through custom workflows, evaluation systems, or harnesses.

Nice to Have

• Experience in digitalizing supply chain processes.
• Familiarity with CRM and analytics product development.
