Senior Backend Python Developer (Social Media Intelligence Platform)

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust backend services and APIs using Python.
• Build, maintain, and optimize web scrapers for platforms like TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X using tools such as Puppeteer and Playwright.
• Integrate and manage third-party scraping services and APIs, ensuring they meet project requirements.
• Utilize AI/ML services and APIs for content analysis, including Azure AI Video Indexer and models via OpenRouter.
• Work extensively with Docker for containerization and deployment within a client-hosted Azure environment.
• Collaborate on system architecture, API design, and feature implementation.
• Maintain and enhance the existing Python codebase, focusing on code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional backend development experience with a strong emphasis on Python.
• Extensive experience with Docker for development and deployment.
• Proven expertise in building and maintaining sophisticated web scrapers for social media platforms.
• Deep understanding of anti-scraping mechanisms and techniques to bypass them ethically.
• Proficiency with browser automation tools such as Puppeteer, Playwright, and Selenium.
• Experience in developing and debugging page functions for data extraction.
• Hands-on experience with third-party scraping platforms/APIs like Apify and BrightData.
• Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs using FastAPI.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure and its AI services.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure AI services, specifically Video Indexer.
• Strong collaboration skills in a remote environment across different time zones.
