Senior Backend Engineer (Python/AI/GCP) - Fulltime - Worldwide

We’re an HR tech startup building an AI-powered matching engine that helps candidates find the right role inside large companies by uploading their CV. We’re angel-funded and part of the Google for Startups AI program, with a fully remote team across the globe.

Role

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build AI-powered features in our Python/GCP stack. You’ll own features end-to-end: from LLM/data interactions to scalable backend services in Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend features in Python around LLM and data workflows.
• Integrate with and orchestrate AI services (LLMs, data pipelines, matching logic).
• Deploy and operate services on Google Cloud (e.g., Cloud Run, GKE, etc.).
• Make pragmatic infrastructure decisions for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with a fully-remote engineering team and take real ownership of features.

Requirements

• 4+ years backend experience with Python in production.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (must-have).
• Experience building AI/LLM-powered features or data-heavy services.
• Solid understanding of scalable architectures and performance optimization.
• Comfortable in a startup environment with high ownership and low hand-holding.
