Senior Backend Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to enhance and optimize our current AWS infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our cloud systems. You will have the autonomy to implement industry best practices and drive improvements, with the potential to advance into broader software engineering leadership as our company grows.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and refine our existing AWS architecture to ensure high performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement and maintain cloud solutions that align with industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and deploy cloud services.
• Monitor cloud systems to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies to safeguard data integrity.
• Document processes and provide training to team members on cloud technologies.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience with AWS and cloud infrastructure management.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices and design patterns.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Pulumi.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools to ensure system reliability.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

• Experience in software engineering leadership roles.
• Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.

Key Projects (First 90 Days)

1. Complete assessment and enhancement of existing backend infrastructure
2. Implement automated CI/CD pipelines with testing integration
3. Perform security audit and implement recommended improvements
4. Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
