Senior Azure Fabric Engineer - FT Freelance -Worldwide

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Fabric Engineer to lead the migration of our data solutions from Power BI Pro to Azure Fabric. This role involves designing, developing, and executing the migration process, as well as crafting essential reports that overcome current dataset management limitations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the migration of current Power BI solutions to Azure Fabric.
• Manage data ingestion from Azure SQL and other data sources.
• Optimize semantic models and develop complex DAX calculations and measures.
• Update and create UX-optimized reports and dashboards.
• Build and deliver solutions using Direct Lake, Lakehouses, and OneLake.
• Design and maintain data pipelines and notebooks for real-time and batch analytics.
• Automate and orchestrate data workflows using Power Automate for enhanced auditability and efficiency.
• Develop scheduled BI report refreshes, alerts, and notifications through Power Automate.
• Integrate with third-party APIs and systems to streamline processes.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications and user guides.

Required Skills

• Proven experience in Power BI development and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components.
• Strong scripting and data transformation skills, particularly with Power Query/M and DAX.
• Effective communication skills with a strong emphasis on documentation practices.

Nice to Have

• Experience with process automation to enhance auditability and efficiency.
• Familiarity with integrating third-party APIs and systems.
