About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate AI Solutions Architect to join our team. This role focuses on collaborating with clients to design and architect cutting-edge AI-driven solutions, with a specific emphasis on leveraging large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Claude, Llama, and Gemini. This is a highly consultative and strategic role, ideal for technologists with a deep understanding of AI technologies and the ability to align them with clients' business objectives.
As an AI Solutions Architect, you will serve as a fractional resource for companies that need high-level AI expertise but do not require a full-time in-house specialist. You will guide software development teams, design AI integrations, and provide actionable recommendations to deliver innovative solutions tailored to client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and challenges.
- Design and architect AI-driven solutions that integrate directly with large language models and other AI technologies.
- Advise clients on the latest advancements in AI, including new models, capabilities, and use cases.
- Provide guidance on integrating AI into client software applications (e.g., SaaS platforms), ensuring seamless functionality and alignment with client goals.
- Assist clients in exploring AI capabilities, such as creating conversational AI assistants or dynamic, interactive tools for end-users.
- Stay updated on the rapidly evolving AI landscape, including trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Act as a fractional AI expert, offering ongoing support and strategic insights on an as-needed basis.
- Collaborate with internal and external software development teams, ensuring that architectural recommendations are feasible and efficient.
Required Skills and Experience:
AI and Language Model Expertise:
- Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs), including public and private deployment scenarios.
- Experience working with proprietary and open-source AI platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google’s Gemini, Hugging Face).
- Proficiency in advising clients on when to leverage provider APIs vs. deploying private or localized models to meet specific needs.
Training, Fine-Tuning, and Model Optimization:
- Knowledge of LLM training processes, including dataset preparation, model selection, and training pipeline setup.
- Experience with fine-tuning models for domain-specific applications and aligning models with business needs.
- Familiarity with advanced optimization techniques, such as Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), to enhance model performance.
API Proficiency and Integration:
- Hands-on experience with AI-related APIs (e.g., ChatGPT API, Claude API) to implement chat completions, embeddings, and other functionalities.
- Ability to optimize API usage for latency, cost-efficiency, and scalability while adhering to security best practices.
Deployment and Scaling:
- Expertise in deploying AI solutions in cloud-based and on-premises environments, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards.
- Familiarity with containerized deployments using tools like Docker or Kubernetes for private models.
Model Evaluation and Iteration:
- Proficient in using evaluation tools to measure model performance, accuracy, bias, and effectiveness.
- Experience in running batch evaluations and iterating on configurations to meet performance objectives.
AI Infrastructure and Workflow Design:
- Ability to design AI architectures that integrate directly into workflows, bypassing middleware layers when necessary.
- Expertise in building real-time and asynchronous applications leveraging LLMs (e.g., chatbots, virtual assistants).
Automation and Innovation:
- Familiarity with automation tools and workflow optimization, including data pipelines and API-driven integrations.
- Ability to embed external knowledge into models using vectorization techniques and prompt engineering.
Software Development and Critical Thinking:
- Strong understanding of software development principles to guide integration and architectural decisions. Hands-on coding is not required but a strong plus.
- Ability to analyze complex client requirements and translate them into practical AI-driven solutions.
Consultative Approach and Communication Skills:
- Skilled in working closely with clients to understand their business needs and deliver tailored AI recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and software development teams.
Passion for AI and Continuous Learning:
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for staying at the forefront of AI advancements and emerging technologies.
- Active engagement with the AI community (e.g., forums, conferences, and experimentation).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing conversational AI solutions or similar applications.
- Familiarity with SaaS platforms and their integration with AI.
