About the Role

We're seeking an Engineering Team Lead to build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering squad of 2-3 engineers focused on developing, scaling, and maintaining critical AI automation features.

You'll lead the team responsible for core AI agent development, platform infrastructure, and workflow automation systems that power thousands of businesses globally.

This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management.

You'll remain deeply involved in architecture and code while building a culture of technical excellence, rapid iteration, and extreme ownership within your squad.

In this role, you will:

Build and Lead a High-Performing Team: Recruit, mentor, and develop 2-3 engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and accountability. Guide your team through complex technical challenges while maintaining our high-velocity development pace.

Drive Technical Vision and Architecture: Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define technical roadmap and architectural decisions. Lead your team through system design choices, emphasizing scalability, performance, and AI integration patterns.

Maintain Hands-On Technical Excellence: Actively contribute to codebase through architecture design, code reviews, and critical feature development. Set technical standards through example while ensuring your team delivers production-ready, high-quality code.

Manage Execution and Delivery: Oversee project timelines, sprint planning, and resource allocation to meet ambitious product goals. Balance technical debt with feature velocity while maintaining our culture of shipping features in hours, not weeks.

Foster AI-First Development Culture: Guide your team in building cutting-edge AI agent workflows, LLM integrations, and autonomous business automation systems. Ensure alignment with our mission to democratize AI-powered business growth.

Scale Engineering Practices: Establish code review standards, technical documentation practices, and mentoring frameworks that will scale as we grow our engineering organization globally.

Technical Ownership Areas

AI Agent Development: Lead development of autonomous agents including our Cold Email Campaign Agent, AI SDR system, and Sales Call Analysis Agent using Large Language Models and advanced AI workflows.

Platform Infrastructure: Own critical systems including real-time dashboards, usage-based billing, workflow automation, and integration platforms that serve thousands of concurrent users.

System Architecture: Design scalable, maintainable systems that support rapid feature development while maintaining performance at global scale.

Technical Mentoring: Develop your team's expertise in AI integration patterns, modern web development, and high-performance system design.

Technical Stack Leadership

Must-Have Expertise:

• Next.js 13+ (App Router) - Advanced React patterns and architectural leadership
• TypeScript - Expert-level system design and type architecture
• Tailwind CSS - Scalable component systems and design patterns
• Tanstack/React Query - Complex state management and data synchronization at scale

Leadership-Level Experience Required:

• System Architecture - Designing and scaling complex, distributed systems
• AI/ML Integration - Production leadership with LLMs, autonomous agents, AI workflows
• Team Development - Proven track record mentoring and growing engineering talent
• Performance Optimization - Leading optimization efforts across frontend and backend systems

Qualifications

Technical Leadership Experience: 8+ years full-stack development with 3+ years leading engineering teams that deliver high-quality products at scale.

Strong Technical Foundation: Expert-level understanding of modern software engineering practices, system architecture, and performance optimization. Deep experience with our core tech stack.

AI/ML Product Development: Experience or strong interest in building AI-powered products, especially involving Large Language Models and autonomous agent systems.

Exceptional Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams. Strong communication skills for stakeholder alignment and technical decision-making.

High-Velocity Environment: Ability to operate effectively in our fast-paced, high-accountability environment where features deploy rapidly and priorities shift based on user feedback.

Team Building: Track record of recruiting top technical talent and developing engineers through mentoring, code reviews, and technical guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

AI Agent Framework Experience: Prior experience building autonomous agent systems, AI workflow orchestration, or LLM-powered applications at production scale.

Startup Leadership: Experience leading engineering teams in high-growth startup environments with rapid scaling requirements.

Platform Development: Background building developer-facing platforms, APIs, or infrastructure that serves external users at scale.
