ABOUT THE ROLE
TellySynco is building the next generation of connected TV experiences. As a Full-Stack Swift developer, you will own the entire product stack — from the polished, focus-driven tvOS interface that viewers interact with, to the server-side APIs and data pipelines that power it. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role suited to an engineer who thinks in systems, writes clean Swift, and takes pride in shipping experiences that feel seamless end-to-end.
This role is ideal for an early-stage engineering hire who wants to move fast, set architectural patterns, and grow with the product. You will be a key technical voice in decisions about the platform, and your work will be visible on millions of television screens.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Client-Side — tvOS & iOS
- Design, build, and maintain tvOS application UI using SwiftUI and UIKit, with full command of the Apple focus engine and 10-foot UX principles.
- Own the content discovery, playback, and navigation layers, including AVFoundation integration, HLS stream handling, and deep-link routing.
- Implement Apple platform integrations — Siri Remote, Universal Purchase, tvOS Continuity, and StoreKit — with a strong eye for accessibility and performance.
- Maintain a component library and design system aligned to TellySynco's visual language, ensuring consistent, polished interfaces across OS versions.
- Write thorough unit and UI tests using XCTest and XCUITest; participate in code review and enforce Swift best practices across the team.
Server-Side — API & Infrastructure
- Architect, build, and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs using Vapor or Hummingbird, ensuring reliability, performance, and clear versioning.
- Design and manage relational database schemas (PostgreSQL preferred) using Fluent ORM; write efficient migrations and maintain data integrity.
- Own authentication and authorization flows — OAuth 2.0, JWT, session management — and enforce security best practices throughout the backend.
- Build and maintain content delivery pipelines, including metadata ingestion, asset transformation, and integration with third-party streaming or CDN providers.
- Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP (ECS, Lambda, Cloud Run, or equivalent); maintain CI/CD pipelines and Docker-based deployment workflows.
- Monitor system health, define alerting thresholds, and respond to production incidents with a structured on-call mindset.
CORE REQUIREMENTS
Must-Have
- 4+ years of professional Swift development with a deep understanding of Swift concurrency — async/await, actors, and structured concurrency.
- At least one shipped tvOS or iOS application on the App Store, ideally in a media, streaming, or consumer product context.
- Hands-on production experience with a Swift server framework (Vapor, Hummingbird, or equivalent); comfort with route handling, middleware, and async request pipelines.
- Strong command of PostgreSQL or another relational database: query optimization, indexing strategy, schema migrations, and transactional data handling.
- Fluency in REST API design principles and/or GraphQL schema design; experience versioning and documenting APIs for client consumption.
- Working knowledge of containerization with Docker and cloud deployment on AWS or GCP; experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar).
- Solid understanding of the Apple developer ecosystem: App Store submission, provisioning profiles, entitlements, and code signing.
Preferred
- Experience with video streaming protocols — HLS, DASH, or CMAF — and CDN integration for low-latency media delivery.
- Familiarity with CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, or Apple's broader ecosystem of authentication and sync services.
- Prior experience in a streaming, broadcast, or media technology company.
- Exposure to ML-driven content recommendation systems or personalization pipelines.
- Comfort contributing to product and architecture decisions in a small, fast-moving engineering team.

WHAT WE OFFER
- Fully remote position with flexible async-first working hours.
- Competitive compensation benchmarked to reflect both front-end and back-end seniority.

- Direct access to product leadership and influence over the technical roadmap.
- Annual budget for conferences, courses, and Apple developer tooling.
A NOTE ON THIS ROLE
This is a deliberately merged role. We are an early-stage team and we value engineering velocity over strict specialization right now. The ideal candidate is genuinely comfortable on both sides of the stack — not merely tolerant of one side. If your Swift skills are strong but your server-side exposure is limited, or vice versa, we still encourage you to apply and be transparent in your application about where you want to grow.
As TellySynco scales, this role will likely evolve and split into dedicated front-end and back-end tracks. Engineers who join in a full-stack capacity will be well-positioned to lead either specialization.
