Power Platform Developer — Smartsheet to Power Platform Migration
Engagement type: Contract, 30–40 hrs/week (flexible based on candidate availability), estimated 2–3 months

About the project:

Mericle Commercial Real Estate is consolidating its cloud and on-prem tools into the Microsoft platform. This role covers migrating ~50 existing Smartsheet-based workflow solutions (varying in complexity) into Microsoft Power Platform ahead of a year-end Smartsheet contract expiration.

Responsibilities:

• Review existing Smartsheet solutions (including Control Center, automations, Data Mesh, data tables) and assess migration approach for each
• Rebuild solutions in Power Platform — primarily model-driven apps, with Canvas apps where appropriate
• Recommend the right target for each solution (full app rebuild vs. simpler options like SharePoint lists) based on complexity
• Build Power Automate flows to replace existing Smartsheet automations
• Improve UI/UX during rebuild — solutions don't need to map 1:1 to the original interface, but should be clean and usable
• Collaborate with Mericle's internal team (project lead + 2 other consultants) already working on parallel migration items

Requirements:

• Proven experience building model-driven apps in Power Platform
• Strong Power Automate experience, including complex flow logic
• Working knowledge of JSON (for Power Automate expressions)
• Comfortable auditing and interpreting existing automation logic in another platform to inform a rebuild

Nice to have:

• Prior hands-on experience with Smartsheet (Control Center, Data Mesh, automations)
• Canvas app development experience
• Experience advising on tool selection (app vs. simpler platform-native solution) for varying complexity workloads
