About Us

Blackout is a next-generation lighting control platform used on film sets, television, live events, and architectural projects worldwide. We’re expanding our ecosystem with LivePlot Enterprise — a collaborative, real-time drawing and visualization tool designed for lighting professionals working in high-pressure environments.

We’re looking for a PixiJS expert who can help us take LivePlot to the next level by building a performant, multi-user drawing experience that feels rock-solid, responsive, and professional.

What You’ll Work On

• Building advanced 2D drawing/visualization features in PixiJS (think: plots, stage diagrams, fixtures, layers, etc.).
• Enabling multi-user, real-time collaboration (synchronized editing between multiple clients).
• Optimizing rendering performance for large numbers of objects while keeping the experience smooth on modern browsers and iPads.
• Designing extensible drawing tools (shapes, selection, drag/drop, snapping, etc.) tailored to lighting industry workflows.
• Working closely with our core team to integrate PixiJS rendering with existing backend systems.

What We’re Looking For

• Deep experience with PixiJS (canvas/WebGL rendering, performance optimization, custom shaders a plus).
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript background.
• Experience building **real-time collaborative apps **(WebSockets, WebRTC, or CRDT frameworks like Y.js/Automerge).
• Familiarity with complex drawing/graphics apps (CAD-like, Figma/Notion-like, or stage plotting tools).
• Bonus: Background in lighting, stage visualization, or real-time graphics for entertainment.
