Audit of Voice-Based AI Application (FastAPI, AWS, Deepgram, GPT)

We're looking for a seasoned developer to perform a technical audit of our custom-built, voice-based AI training application. This system simulates real-time conversations between agents and virtual clients, using voice I/O, GPT, and other modern AI tools.

The purpose of this engagement is not to replace our current developer. We’re looking for an experienced second set of eyes to review the setup, flag issues, and suggest optimizations. If things go well, there may be an opportunity to collaborate on future phases.

Audit the current system:

Backend: FastAPI, Deepgram STT, OpenAI GPT, ElevenLabs TTS
Frontend: React
Hosted on AWS EC2/S3

Evaluate code quality and architecture to see if it is scalable, maintainable, and secure

Identify potential AWS cost savings, especially in how we’re running/testing the EC2 instances and handling traffic.

Assess the real-time performance of voice transcription and playback — where is latency coming from?

Provide clear, actionable recommendations we can implement (strong preference without rewriting everything, you must be comfortable with someone else's code).

Optionally: give your opinion on long-term viability and whether it’s worth continuing with the current stack.
