Mid-Senior Backend Developer (Typescript, Node) - Full-time - EU

We're looking for a Lead/Sr, Backend Developer!
Are you an experienced backend engineer looking to take full ownership of building and scaling a global product? We’re looking for a Lead Backend Developer who is self-driven, passionate about AI automation, and eager to take charge of our backend development. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be instrumental in shaping the product and driving technical decisions.

About the Role

As our Backend Developer, you will take full responsibility for architecting, developing, and optimizing our backend systems. You will work closely with the founding team to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability while integrating AI automation into our workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the backend development – from system architecture to deployment and maintenance
• Design, build, and optimize APIs to support our frontend and external integrations
• Implement AI-driven automation to enhance product functionality
• Ensure performance and scalability by optimizing database queries and backend processes
• Work collaboratively with the frontend team to build seamless user experiences
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve reliability using modern observability tools
• Lead technical decisions and establish best practices for the backend infrastructure
• Stay ahead of trends in AI automation, backend frameworks, and system architecture

Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in backend development, preferably in a leadership role

Proficiency in our tech stack:

• Backend: TypeScript, Node.js, Fastify
• Frontend: TypeScript, React, Remix, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui
• Database: PostgreSQL (Supabase)
• Background Tasks: Trigger.dev
• Deployment & Hosting: Vercel, Fly.io, Docker
• Monitoring & Error Tracking: Sentry

✔️ Experience integrating AI automation into products
✔️ Strong understanding of API design and database optimization
✔️ Ability to take full ownership of backend development and lead technical initiatives
✔️ Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with a team

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working in fast-paced startups
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
