Machine Learning Engineer (Audio & Fraud Detection) - Fulltime - US/Canada

About the Role:

Clearline builds real-time financial fraud protection for seniors. You'll play crucial role in detection intelligence and real-time intervention.

We're seeking a full-time AI/ML Engineer to build and implement our core fraud detection model using embeddings and vector search technology. This is a hands-on role working directly with our founding team to scale our beta product from limited beta to broader launch, developing new security features and real-time detection capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Design embeddings for scam detection across structured and unstructured data
• Build real-time classification models for live audio
• Research and implement privacy-preserving ML techniques
• Own model lifecycle: training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring

Required Skills & Experience:

• ML fundamentals: embeddings, NLP, classification, sequence models
• Real-time inference at low latency - critical for live fraud detection
• Vector search and embeddings architecture
• Python proficiency
• Cloud ML infrastructure (deployment, scaling, monitoring)
• Speech or audio signal processing for phone call analysis
• Security-first mindset with experience architecting privacy-preserving ML systems

Nice to Have:

• Telecommunications (telco) industry experience - understanding of phone-based fraud patterns and telecom infrastructure
• Encrypted computation or secure enclave experience - for privacy-preserving inference
• DevOps experience for ML pipelines
• Experience working with regulatory compliance requirements (US-based data handling)
• Previous startup or early-stage product experience
