Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled developer to conduct a feasibility study focused on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology for a proximity application. The primary objective is to determine the reliability of detecting phones over BLE when the app is running in the background or when the device is locked, across both iOS and Android platforms.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tests to assess the reliability of Bluetooth Low Energy for device detection while the app is in the background or the device is locked on both iOS and Android.
- Evaluate the performance of BLE in terms of range, latency, and battery consumption.
- Develop a working BLE test on real devices to gather empirical data.
- Compile findings and present a recommended technology stack for further development.
- Estimate the cost for developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) based on the study results.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in developing applications for both iOS and Android platforms, with a focus on Bluetooth Low Energy technology.
- Strong understanding of BLE protocols and their application in mobile app development.
- Experience with background processing and location services on mobile devices.
- Ability to analyze and report on technical findings related to range, latency, and battery usage.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with feasibility studies or prototyping in mobile development.
- Familiarity with cross-platform development tools and technologies.
