Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Animator to create a series of 15-20 dynamic animations for a stylized horse character within a game developed in Unreal Engine 5. Your work will be pivotal in bringing a lifelike and playful presence to the horse character, contributing to a gaming experience reminiscent of the style seen in Crash Bandicoot 4.
Responsibilities
- Rig the horse model to prepare it for animation, ensuring versatile movement capabilities.
- Develop a range of animations including Walk, Run, Trot, Jump, Stumble, Win Expression, and Lose Expression, among others.
- Import and integrate the created animations into Unreal Engine 5, ensuring they meet technical requirements and perform seamlessly within the game's environment.
- Ensure the animations are expressive and convey the playful nature of the horse while maintaining realistic equine characteristics.
- Implement facial animations to enhance the character's expressiveness and engagement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in character rigging and animation, particularly using Unreal Engine 5.
- Ability to create emotive and playful animations that align with a stylized artistic direction.
- Strong understanding of horse anatomy and movement to ensure realistic animation.
- Proficiency in facial animation techniques to enhance character expressions.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the animation style and mechanics of games similar to Crash Bandicoot 4.
