Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled HTML5 Video Implementation Specialist to support a custom video solution within a Squarespace website. The goal is to achieve a seamless, chromeless video playback experience across various devices, particularly on Safari/iOS, to overcome the limitations of native Squarespace video blocks.
Responsibilities
- Implement custom HTML5 video solutions with no visible controls for a Squarespace website.
- Ensure consistent, inline video playback behavior across desktop, iPad, and iPhone devices, especially focusing on Safari/iOS compatibility.
- Troubleshoot and optimize video embedding to maintain reliable cross-platform performance.
- Collaborate with the team to integrate the prepared videos using custom embed/code techniques.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in HTML5 and front-end development.
- Experience with video implementation and customization for web platforms.
- Knowledge of cross-device compatibility, particularly with Safari/iOS.
- Familiarity with Squarespace and its customization capabilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with web performance optimization related to video playback.
- Understanding of user experience design for video content.
