About the Company

Client is a top 1% Google Premier Partner agency in LA. We’ve managed over $1B in ad spend for household-name brands across commerce, marketplaces, media, and data. We’re rebuilding the agency around AI — and we need one person whose entire job is running GTM experiments.

Not an engineer role. Not a media buyer role. You’re a growth operator who builds with AI tools. The CEO has a constant stream of growth ideas — bookmarked playbooks, viral threads, half-formed hypotheses. Your job is to execute them fast, figure out which ones are real, and turn the winners into playbooks. You work
directly with him, on demand.

WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

Real examples from our current backlog:

  • Signal-based outreach — we already de-anonymize website visitors and pipe them to Slack for speed-to-lead outreach. You’d extend it: set up watchers that alert us the moment someone in our ICP posts about a target topic, filter by fit, and get us engaging within the hour.
  • Comment-intent mining — pull comments from competitor and creator posts, classify by pain point, enrich the commenters, filter to ICP, and draft outreach that references what they actually said. Push approved sends through our sequencing platform.
  • Closed-lost reactivation — run our historical pipeline through an agent that drafts a personalized reopen email for every closed-lost deal, referencing the original objection. One-click review and send.
  • AI answer share-of-voice — weekly agent run of our buyers’ top 50 questions through ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. Log who gets named and which sources get cited, alert when a competitor shows up where we don’t — then go win those citations.
  • Founder content engine — CEO voice notes to drafted LinkedIn posts to a scheduled queue to a weekly performance review. The system exists. You keep it shipping weekly without anyone chasing you, and you multiply what works: best post each month becomes a landing page section, an ad, an outreach angle.

THE STACK YOU’LL WORK IN

You won’t build from scratch — you’ll wire together platforms we already run:

  • Monaco — sales automation and sequencing, with a forward-deployed engineer you can lean on.
  • Syft Data and Surface — visitor identification and inbound.
  • Claude and MCP connectors — most of our workflows run through these.
  • BigQuery — our data warehouse, where experiment results get logged.
  • Plus the usual suspects: Clay-style enrichment, Apify, Slack, and Typefully.

If you know some of these and can figure out the rest in a week, you’re fine. Dangerous with APIs and AI tools beats classically trained.

HOW YOU’LL WORK

  • Direct line to the CEO — he sends you an idea — a bookmarked thread, a voice note, a “can we do X?” — and you’re on it same day. Prototype fast, report back with what you learned. This on-demand loop is the core of the job.
  • Ship, learn, decide — every experiment gets a hypothesis, a kill criteria, and a verdict: scale it, adapt it, or kill it. You write the playbook for anything that survives.
  • Weekly triage — take the week’s pile of bookmarked tactics and return verdicts with one-line reasoning: run it, adapt it, or skip it.

HOW YOU’LL BE JUDGED

  • First: speed of execution and speed of learning. How fast an idea goes from message to running experiment, and how fast we know whether it works. A killed experiment with a clear lesson in 5 days beats a polished one in 5 weeks.
  • Then: pipeline signals. Qualified touchpoints created — replies, conversations, inbound demos, traffic from placements, meetings booked. We’ll set specific targets together once the first experiments calibrate the baseline.

WHERE THIS SITS

We have an AI Operations Lead who owns internal AI adoption — team enablement, SOPs, tooling standards. That’s not this. This role is external and revenue-facing: experiments that create pipeline for Apex. You’ll follow her tooling standards, but you answer to the CEO and your scoreboard is growth, not ops.

YOU’RE PROBABLY A FIT IF

  • You’ve run growth experiments at a startup or agency — or you’re a technical marketer who builds their own tools.
  • You use Claude or GPT daily for real work. Bonus: you’ve wired up an MCP or built an agent workflow.
  • You’ve touched a few of: Clay, Apify, Instantly or Smartlead, n8n or Zapier, webhooks, basic scripting, SQL.
  • You can read a viral growth thread and immediately see what’s real, what’s exaggerated, and what would work for a B2B agency.
  • You write outreach copy that gets replies, not unsubscribes.
  • Ambiguity energizes you. “Here’s a screenshot, figure it out” is a normal Tuesday.

YOU’RE PROBABLY NOT A FIT IF

  • You need a detailed brief before starting anything.
  • You’re a pure developer or a pure media buyer — this lives in between.
  • You’d rather perfect one thing for a month than ship five things in a week.
