What is Midl:

Midl is making it possible to deploy Solidity smart contracts directly on Bitcoin without bridges or wallet switching. We’re in public-testnet phase and gearing up for devnet launch—join early and help shape the core network.

What you’ll do

  • Own Golang code that powers Midl network nodes (P2P, consensus, mempool, RPC, networking performance).
  • Build and maintain blockchain indexers and data services consumed by dApps and wallets.
  • Develop & document open-source Go libraries for the broader Bitcoin community.
  • Collaborate with protocol researchers and security engineers to harden the system for mainnet.
  • Contribute to B2C-facing tooling (CLI/SDK) that lets users and devs interact with Midl from pure BTC wallets.

Must-haves

  • 3 + years professional Go (or 5 + years in systems languages with at least 1 yr Go).
  • Solid understanding of distributed-systems fundamentals (p2p, consensus, data-replication, networking).
  • Hands-on experience with Bitcoin internals or another major L1 (Ethereum, Cosmos, Solana, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Docker/K8s or similar container orchestration for prod deployment.
  • Comfortable writing clean, well-tested, idiomatic Go and documenting for open source.

Nice-to-haves

  • BTC/EVM bridging or L2/Rollup research experience.
  • Rust, TypeScript, or Solidity knowledge.
  • Proven track record of OSS contributions.
  • Prior work with high-throughput indexing pipelines (Kafka, ClickHouse, etc.).
